Our Story

 

Our journey began in 2019 when I, Frank von Thun, a management consultant and entrepreneur, became a father for the first time. Like many parents, my wife and I quickly realized that raising children is both a joy and a challenge, with every day presenting new obstacles and opportunities for growth. One of our biggest challenges was establishing a bedtime routine for our son, Zane.

 

Despite my best efforts to find tools that could help with this, nothing on the market met our needs. Drawing on my background in management consulting, I decided to create my own solution by applying strategic methodologies to a parenting challenge. This led to the birth of Routino—our first product, an interactive tool designed to make bedtime routines smoother and more enjoyable for both parents and children.

 

When I shared Routino with my mother, a retired specialist in working with autistic children, she recognized its potential to help countless families facing similar challenges. With her guidance and additional insights drawn from her years of experience, we developed more products, each rigorously tested in our own home with our children, Zane and Leila. These tools combine my expertise in management consulting with my mother’s deep understanding of child development, ensuring they are both practical and effective.

 

Recognizing the broader need for these tools, I founded CARENT® to help other parents navigate the complexities of early childhood development. Today, we offer a range of products designed to support your child’s growth, all available exclusively online to maintain a direct connection with our community.
